Best Day Ever!

One movie I absolutely love is Disney’s Tangled. I wouldn’t say I was ever a die-hard Rapunzel fan, but when a storyteller throws in a sass-packed horse like Maximus, a charming chameleon named Pascal, and an iron skillet that somehow steals the spotlight—it’s pure creative genius! As Rapunzel ventures beyond her tower, viewers are swept into a compelling dance between obedience and the call of adventure, echoing the inner tug many of us know well. Maximus, with his expressive antics, delivers laugh-out-loud moments that keep the story delightfully spirited. You can’t help but get “entangled” in it all (yes, pun intended). But the moment I want to highlight is when Rapunzel bursts into song (naturally for a Disney movie!) and joyfully whirls around a tree by her hair, shouting, “This is the Best Day Ever!”

That phrase echoed in my heart during a recent trip to Big Rock Falls in Belize. More than once, members of our team—children included—spontaneously shouted, “Best Day Ever!” as we stood surrounded by lush foliage, towering rocks, and an awe-inspiring waterfall. The beauty of God’s creation was undeniable, and joy flowed as the Emerging Adults (and one courageous six-year-old) plunged into the water, laughter ringing through the canyon like music. It truly felt like stepping into a scene straight out of Tangled.

According to one AI definition, “Best Day Ever” is an expression of extreme joy and satisfaction—capturing moments filled with exceptional positivity and lasting memories. That July Monday certainly fit the bill. But what made the day unforgettable for me wasn’t just the jumping and swimming—it was what followed. In a pool beneath the falls, one of our team members, Tyler, made the life-changing decision to be baptized. His “Best Day Ever” wasn’t about scenery; it was about surrender. It was the view from his heart that made it beautiful—an extraordinary Godly Adventure, if you ask me.

Throughout the week, I witnessed many divine moments, and I can’t wait to see the ones still ahead for these Emerging Adults—graduations, service projects, marriages, children, careers, and everything in between. Their journey is full of Best Day Ever possibilities, and it’s a joy to imagine how God will continue to shape and use their lives.

I’ve had my fair share of breathtaking experiences—from mountain peaks to coastal beaches—even skydiving in Palmer, Alaska (and yes, the view from 10,000 feet with those snow-capped giants below was unmatched). But the greatest Godly Adventure I long for is yet to come: the day I hope to hear, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” On that day, surrounded by heaven’s beauty and the faces of those I cherish, I hope to glance around with a sparkle in my eye and say, without hesitation—“Best Day Ever.”

I really like the text “Best Day Ever” mostly because I am a fan of the movie Tangled. Additionally it made me reflect on the importance of living each day with purpose and meaning. I felt inspired to think about how I can apply your ideas in my daily life. I think discussing these topics in class would be very beneficial, as we could share our perspectives and learn from each other. I’m excited to continue reflecting on these themes and seeing how we can apply them in our lives.

Since I was a young girl, I have always absolutely loved the movie Tangled. I still claim it to be my favorite movie to this day at 21 years old. As soon as I saw the text refer to the movie, I instantly was intrigued and knew I had to read, and I’m so glad I did! I really enjoyed the perspective of life this text persuades. How we experience so many great moments and experiences, great enough to consider those moments the “best day ever,” but how one day, we can truly experience the greatest day ever in heaven. I will think about this perspective each time I watch Tangled now, and I think it will serve as a great reminder to live my life in Christ so I can one day experience the true “Best Day Ever!”
